Again and again with the boom boom.

Jeff Stehr is a single-syllabled songwriter from Milwaukee Wisconsin. He can be found performing solo and with various eclectic ensembles throughout southeastern Wisconsin, including his new home town, Spring Green. His latest musical project is Swaying Daisies, a new duo with vocalist Kelli Gonzalez (Hungry Williams).

Pull together a pair of practiced pop music apostles, baptized in their youth by The Beatles’ irresistible electric jangle. Hypnotized by those effervescent harmonies. Hurled headlong into a life of song. Set up a couple mics. Lift the lid on the piano. Surround them with a smattering of small, sonic sweeteners - guitar, ukulele, hand percussion, a glockenspiel, maybe? - and see what happens. What happens is Swaying Daisies.

Swaying Daisies catch and collect their favorite songs like fireflies in a jar, gaze into the golden glow of the magic emitted by those original arrangements, then distill that luminous liquid into a fresh re-presentation of the original creation. They’ll sneak in few originals too, for added dimension. And see if anyone’s paying attention.

Prior to starting Swaying Daisies with Kelli, Jeff led the hodegepop trio Still No Tomatoes. The decade before that, he was the bandleader of the Jamaican roots-inspired sextet, The Tritonics. He also held the role of pianist with popular, potent purveyors of Western Swing, The Best Westerns.
